Mathematics (3)

  • Expert math-competition coaches (former competitors, math olympiad trainers).

  • Step-by-step preparation for all competitions from AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) → AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination) → USAMO (United States Mathematical Olympiad) → IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad) pathway.

  • Problem-solving fundamentals: Algebra, Number Theory, Combinatorics, Geometry, Proof-writing.

  • Continuous support: practice tests, feedback, strategy sessions, timed simulations.

  • Build a strong math portfolio to enhance STEM applications

Students excited about math, and who want to build a strong profile in this area including:

  • High school students aiming for competitive math contests.

  • Students with strong math aptitude wanting to challenge themselves and work towards achieving success in these types of competitions

  • STEM enthusiasts - who want to strengthen their profiles with real problem-solving credentials.

  • Any student eager to use math through a creative lens and enhance logical thinking skills.

Mathematics (4)

  • AMC
  • AIME
  • USAMO
  • IMO
  • MathCounts

AMC (American Mathematics Competitions)

The Gateway to Competitive Mathematics

The AMC exams are the primary entry point into high-level competitive math. These timed, multiple-choice contests emphasize creative problem solving, mathematical intuition, and efficiency under pressure. Strong performance opens the door to invitational competitions such as AIME and beyond.

Eligibility: AMC 8 (Grade 8 & below), AMC 10/12 (High school)

AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination)

Invitational Problem-Solving Challenge

The American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) is an invite-only exam for top AMC performers. Problems require deeper reasoning, multi-step solutions, and precision, serving as a critical bridge between multiple-choice contests and proof-based olympiads.

Eligibility: By qualification via AMC 10/12

USAMO (United States Mathematical Olympiad)

National Proof-Based Olympiad

The USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) and USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO) represent the highest level of U.S. math competition. These exams focus entirely on rigorous proof writing, demanding clarity, structure, and mathematical depth across advanced topics.

Eligibility: By qualification via AMC and AIME

IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad)

The International Pinnacle of Math Competition

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the most prestigious math competition in the world, bringing together national teams from over 100 countries. Competitors solve extremely challenging proof-based problems, representing the highest standard of mathematical creativity and rigor.

Eligibility: By selection to the U.S. national team

MathCounts

Middle School Competition Pathway

MathCounts is the premier U.S. middle school math competition, combining individual and team rounds in a progression from school and regional competitions to state and national championships. It builds speed, accuracy, and collaborative problem-solving skills, and serves as a strong foundation for future AMC participation.

Eligibility: Grades 6–8

What Makes PathIvy Different

pathivy-internship

  • Tailored Mentorship: We don’t do one-size-fits-all. Each student gets a personalized plan based on their current level, strengths, and goals.

  • Curriculum + Strategy: Not just problem-solving — we teach how to study, how to approach contests, how to manage time under pressure and how to write clear proofs.

  • Experienced Coaches: Olympiad-trained mentors who understand the pathway from AMC to IMO, have first hand experience, and can guide you step-by-step.

  • Long-Term Vision: We don’t just aim for one contest, we help you build a strong math background, competitive mindset, and a credible portfolio for college and STEM college applications.

  • Proven Results: Students who complete our program often perform significantly better in contests, secure advanced invites (AIME, USAMO), and build strong STEM-ready profiles.
